Happy Halloween and end of rotation

Well, my first rotation is done and gone. Things went well afterall, and I recieved an A for it, which makes me very happy since I was pretty sure my preceptor thought I was an incompetent idiot. But hey, I guess I'm better than I thought. Anyway, the rotation technically ended on thursday, since my preceptor wasn't around on friday. So to celebrate the greatest holiday of the year, I dressed up in a greek goddess outfit (I was decked out with an olive-branch headdress and all) and called myself Pharmacopia, the goddes of ontime prescription filling, for the day. It was cute when all the kids who were doing trick-r-treating in Walgreens came up to the pharmacy looking for candy (and the adults for their vicodin, which is practically given away like candy). However, my new rotation is fast approaching, as in it is tomorrow and I am slightly worried about. Though I know that my preceptor will be good; he is a colleegue of my mother and a very well known and respected pharmacist, I still worry about looking like a complete idiot.

As I said in an earlier e-mail, my best friend Patrick came to california to look for work in SF. So for the past three weeks I've been hanging out with him whenever I could. We've been to an event called the Red Bull Soap Box Race, then last weeek he slept over at my place and we went to a movie, and then this week was halloween. These last couple of weeks have been a lot better, especially with happening around the church. I met two great friends, Kathy and Ben, and I tried to become more involved in the activities, though it was still hard due to commuting an hour back from my work to berkeley. However, I was able to meet with the missionaries a few more times, though one of them gets pissed off at me every time we meet up because I'll say something that doesn't fit in with the "LDS" way and end up offending her. Oh well, the one who didn't speak much english loved me though. Anyway, the main event was of course the halloween party that the church put on. Patrick and I were supposed to head to the Castro with Ben, but we found out that the parade was canceled due to a stabbing that happened last year. So I convinced Patrick that going to a Mormon party would be fun and we headed up to this party/haunted house at the institute building. I was actually really impressed with the outcome, since there was a lot of dancing, food and people in all kinds of crazy costumes. There were a lot of Joker's from The Dark Knight there, some of which were really good. We all danced for hours at the place, though Pat had to leave early due to fact that the public transit system only runs until midnight. But that was fine, since after both Pat and Kathy left, the party was broken up by the police for being too loud and Ben and I hung out for a while afterward. Now that I'm back, I do miss my friends from CA like crazy, but I know that I'll be back there at least once a year. Well, that's pretty much everything for now. Time to adjust to the three hour time difference and once again living with my parents (God help me!).

I've heard about the red bull soap box race--it looks like so much fun... do you think there'll be pics online? I'm gonna look--I love what people come up with.

Oh, and that's really funny about the vicodin ;D.
