Gaming season

After the Caymans, things have taken a slow down for Alex and I. At the same time, we have found ways to hang out with our good friends more. First off, every Sunday Alex has been running an RPG game online with about five other people, including me. Most of the friends in this RPG are from different parts of the country, so only one of them we have actually ever met in person. It's a star wars/serenity RPG, so I ended up being the jedi character while everyone else has characters that are similar to the characters from the show Firefly (or the movie Serenity). If you don't know what that is, look it up and then watch it on Hulu because it's fraking awesome. We also have decided to have a game night on Mondays with our friends Joaquin and Damian. Other people sometime show up, like our cleaning people Aaron and Mel, or my friend Juan, but it's been mostly Joaquin and Damian. These games usually consist of board games, such as monopoly or Last Night on Earth, or card games like Fluxx and Game of Thrones.

We've also been going on some good food adventures. March 26th was our anniversary, so Alex and I celebrated 2 years together in style by heading to Mario Batali's premier restaurant, Del Posto. There we had Wagu beef tartar, gorgonzola filled tortelinni in a truffle sauce, meat filled hat shaped pasta with a wine sauce, I had a duck breast and Alex had a pork chop and for dessert was amazing gelato and a cheese platter. All in all, it was probably one of the best meals I have ever had. Also this weekend, Alex and I headed to flushing for Sichuan HotPot, where we ate live shrimp that we killed at the table by soaking them in alcohol and dunking into boiling spicy broth. Yay for crazy Chinese things!

In two weeks is passover, so we will be up in Albany again for that. It's usually a good time and I enjoy the food. I-Con is next weekend, so Alex and I are debating on going to that. It's a convention in Long Island and not the greatest Con either, so we aren't sure if we want to take the trip.
