updated!

Well, I finally started my third rotation down in New York City. I'm really enjoying this rotation already, even after only two days. I am mostly working in the IV room, observing chemotherapy, doing TPN calculations and even making some TPNs. I am not making chemotherapy though, since they all seem to think I'm going to destroy my white blood cell count by somehow spraying chemo on myself despite the fact that we are all gowned up and behind a safety sheild. I am also working with another LECOM student, Ammara Rizwan, who sat not to far away from me in class and we will soon be with the same pharmacist, though right now they split us, with me in the IV room and her in the NicU. She has made me feel better, since I was starting to freak out about this core topics test come up in 6 weeks but apparently no one else has studied for it either (Phil doesn't count). So we are thinking about studying together, but who knows. I also am adjusting pretty well to living down in NYC. Unlike in California, I did know some people when I got here, mainly my old boyfriend/best friend Zack, who is an economics major at NYU. So it made the transition a bit easier. I also have found the YSA here really awesome. Of course, like always I'm late to sacrament meeting the first time I go, but this time it wasn't my fault. Apparently they switch times of sacrament meeting with the new year and forgot to put it on the sign outside the church, so I got there two hours late. Thank god for the LDS three hour church service, because I was able to meet some people in relief society and was invited over for dinner and met quite a few people that live near me. Then I went to FHE and met some more of the members. A lot of them were really quite awesome. It's shaping up to be a good time, hopefully, here in the city. I also am still taking review classes in order to try to pass the NYS boards, so some of that should also help with my core topics exam since we have to know pharm math for the exam and I barely remembered anything from that until I took that review class. Well, that's pretty much it. Hope you all had a good holiday.

I've heard good things about the wards in NY. . . my sister-in-law served a mission there, and every once in awhile visits friends out there as well as the church's singles' scene. . . she's still single, but she has a lot of fun. I'm sure you'll have a blast.
