It's official! Alex and I are heading to China on September 11th this year. We have tickets to the world expo that is going on in Shanghai, so that should be really exciting. As of right now, we plan on spending a total of two weeks there, from the 11th to the 25th. The first 4 days will be spent at the world expo and seeing Shanghai, then we plan on flying to Beijing where we will spend the rest of our time. Beijing has all the most exciting stuff like the great wall, olympic village and terra-cotta army. Plus the food there will be awesome. This will be the longest vacation Alex and I will have taken together, as Puerto Rico we only spent the weekends together. I'm very excited.
I've been pretty busy in these past months, now that it is the summer and so many activities are going on. I celebrated my birthday with a couple of my closest friends here in NYC by going to Japanese hot pot. Then I went down to philadelphia to attend Wizard Philly, which is a comic book convention that NYJedi does a show in every year. That was a great experience and I look forward to my next convention. There was also an off broadway show that the Jedi did, which was pretty awesome. Alex was in it and he did quite well for not being an actor.
I've been getting fridays off so I end up spending that time with my friend Juan, who I've come to appreciate a great deal. He's a "Master" from NYJedi, which means he's one of the leaders of the group. I very much enjoy his company and look forward to the time we spend together.
This week turned out to be extremely stressful. As I said before, I usually get fridays off and therefore I had made plans to be with Juan. Then I was told last minute by my boss that I would be working. This made me very upset and I was unhappy the entire day. By the end of the day, I was just calming down, but I had to call my boss. He then made a personal attack, calling me a child for being upset and an idiot. The next day, I put in my two weeks notice. So my last day will be the 29th of july. I'm very happy to get out of this job, as it was making me miserable. Maybe I can salvage the last bit of summer before I head to China. I need to be able to spend more time with my friends, otherwise I will go crazy. And this job was taking away any time I had to be with them.
Well, hopefully things will turn out for the best. If I don't find a job in the next month, then I will probably just wait until October to churn out more resumes.
